- 1. In 1955 Bishop Stanley was
President of the Northwest office of the Fellowship of
Reconciliation (the Quaker peace group).

- 2. In 1984 he became a Vice-President
of the Executive Committee and a member of the Board of
Directors of the World Fellowship of
Religions.

- 3. Bishop John Stanley was asked to
found an International Peace Center in North America by
the President and founder of the World Fellowship of
Religions.

- 4. In 1987, Bishop John Stanley was
honored with the World Peace Award by the Jerusalem III
Congress.

- 5. 1990 brought the presentation of
the Gold Angel International Peace Award to Bishop
Stanley, by the Excellence in Media Organization,
Hollywood, California.

- 6. The President of Human Unity, Maj.
General S.S. Uban Singh invited Bishop Stanley to be
their chief spiritual guest, and to help lead a "Peace
March" of 200,000 men, women, and children in New Delhi
India, during their international convocation in
September, 1996.

- 7. With the founder of the Native
American Center for Peace Studies (NACPS), Dr. Gerard
Donnelley-Smith, and Nadene Foster, President of Native
American Student Council at Clark College, Bishop John M.
Stanley sends forth a fresh call to end genocide. Through
a series of meetings and conferences in Seattle, they
hope to establish the groundwork for the establishment of
The North American Center for Peace and Holocaust
Education, The Native American Center for Peace Studies.
This will serve as a prototype for such centers in other
major University areas.
